Homeopathic Treatment

What to Expect at your Appointment

Plenty of time to talk about everything that is troubling you.

A relaxed atmosphere and a warm and non-judgemental listener.

A clear treatment plan, sometimes including additional holistic recommendations to support your recovery.

An explanation of the homeopathic approach, and what to expect from your course of treatment.

Your Treatment Plan – ‘How Many Appointments Do I Need?’

Everyone responds in their own way to homeopathic treatment, and the number of appointments needed can depend on, for example, how long you have been unwell, your general level of health and vitality, and whether you are on long term medications from your doctor, among other factors. At your first appointment we will look at the factors affecting your health and agree a treatment plan which is tailor-made to support your recovery.

As a general guide, you might wish to consider it this way: approximately one month of treatment for each year you have been unwell. Thus, if you have a chronic health problem of 5 – 10 years duration, you should expect to come for a course of treatment initially for a period of 6 – 12 months to gain the maximum benefit from the treatment (ie approx 4 – 10 appointments, depending on individual circumstances). Homeopathic remedies can stimulate a healing response that lasts for weeks or even months in some cases, and so the interval between appointments is typically longer than for other types of treatment.

A commitment to a course of homeopathic treatment will ensure you receive the greatest healing benefit from it. A number of sessions allows me to get to know you, and to understand the story of your illness. Once you are on the road to recovery I suggest you get in touch as and when you need to, and in any case a twice yearly appointment (eg in early spring and autumn) can help to ‘nip in the bud’ any signs of ill health, and maintain your vitality and sense of well being.

Karen proved a great supervisor for me. She supported me to arrive at my own prescriptions in each case. She challenged me when necessary so to deepen my enquiry which ensured that I truly understood what the presenting issues were. This in turn serves me well to this day as it allows me to get to the essence of the case early on in the process.

In addition to clinical guidance, Karen also helped me in developing a sense of identity as a practitioner which was a cornerstone to how I now work with my clients.

Working with Karen was a privilege and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone who is open to challenging yet nonjudgmental guidance on their journey of homeopathy.
